On October 20, 1708, Guru Gobind Singh named the sacred Adi Granth as the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, the living Guru. He declared that the Guru of the Sikhs shall always be contained in the 1430 pages of sacred writings contained, therein.

Every year, we commemorate the inauguration of the Granth as Guru with a parade procession of the Siri Guru Granth Ji carried upon the shoulders of the devoted ones through the neighborhood. We carry the Guru back to Guru Ram Das Ashram where we continue the festivities with a Kirtan program and Guru ka Langar.
